A Carryon means what?
Most of us will be traveling this Holiday, right? As I would guess correctly, we are struggling to figure out how to make all your must have's in that ONE piece of luggage that goes with you as you board your flight.
The last time I traveled which was about four months ago, the check in counter would not allow me to bring my one piece due to oversize. As I was forced to chuck out all my beauty regime and extra toilettries in order to qualify my bag, I did not have to check in my bag for the extra $15.00 that American Airline charges. For that kind of money, I would have brought with me a jumbo bag and kept everything I wanted to bring in the first place! Outraged, I find myself shopping this weekend for a good looking "wheely" tote. I find this a difficult task as I test each bag, look at the prices and discover that are all the same spec as my rejected and sturdy American Tourister. The swift sales people want to sell me a $700 TUMI which I firstly, don't need another black thingy and secondly I can't find the purpose of that high ticket item since its only like a peice of furniture when you are not travelling. Right?
So, I head off to the NEW YORK establishment in Wall Street of Century 21. Yes, the cattle of all these tourists...alas, I discover that sales people are fighting with thier management. THIS IS NOT how I planned on spending my leisurely day of Saturday shopping.
Although, through the advise of my sales associate, Im told that though all the bags are the same spec, duh?, but in order for me to get on board, that i CANNOT open the extra zipper because it will add another two inches to the overal demonsions.
Rats, so thats how to get by. And, it means that there is no reason to buy a carry on piece of luggage with the extra room optional zipper because YOU CANT GET On Board.
I have to admit that the excitement of my shopping does take a turn for the GOOD, I ended up looking for a sexy bag that I can haul all of my stuff around the city. Afterall, I am a stylist and designer / A Fashionista wearing many hats that needs my laptop and sometimes extra shoes and Samples for my long days...I found something I coudn't keep my eyes off. A Gorgeous GUESS by Marciano wheely for the street and the carry on. I must've looked cute because several people stopped me to ask about where I was going...
I done good at the price too! a hole $108 buckeroonies. I am a happy shopper, if you see me in the Streets of NYC stop and say hi, I will be wheeliing my stuff around in this crushed paten leather logolized and high sheen craft. Take a look:
