Salvage on the Runway

A Fashion Statement could be made by your lack of disposable income.  I bet that most of us in the US aren't happy about loosing our jobs which trickles down to a complete jolt to our trips down 5th Avenue or even worse those amazing New York City Samples sales!  Poof one minute you are in and the next, you're out!

Don't loose hope chickies cuz I bet you could forge a great selection winter and spring wears from those swap sales between you and your friends.  Before drowning yourselves in sorrows, buy a bottle of margaritas, martini mixes, and assortment of fruity juices to put together your own event.  This will eventually help you to discover someone's vintage as your own personal closet.  Its fun, I did it with my friend Meagan and she had all of us stylists and editors come by with only the good stuff.  I gained weight last year and was happy to rid my Barney's Dresses, Ana Sui jackets, and a bunch of really cute boots that I bought in LA.  I found other desciples of the shopping trend making the same justification for showing up and it was fun.  I ended up with a lot of cute stuff that I wear even today. Also, there seems to be this need to be responsible even if you aren't broke.  And, I am figuring that next year designers are going to produce clothing from their previous season's salvage fabrics and a mishmosh of overstock...I can gaurentee that they too have thought of this because thier investors are probably holding back on supporting and figuring out how to capitolize on the unemployment community. Spend your money on the bills and forget about Intermix.  I am sure you will be less broke and possibly make new friends.
